You are bidding on a 1940 Weatherford, Oklahoma WWII Military "Special Edition-Draft Numbers" Newspaper Article.  The Weatherford News published this draft list on Monday, October 28, 1940.  This list includes 2,468 Custer County residents that were assigned a draft number.  It states the draft lottery numbers would be published Tuesday, October 29, 1940.  You would check your number against the draft lottery number to see if you were required to report.  My grandfather's name is among those on the list and if he were alive today, he would be 99 years old.  This has been stored for many years in a family trunk.  It shows some yellowing and has crease folds.  There are also checkmarks by some names and a mailing label.  A real piece of military history.
