FROM THE ESTATE OF A WORLD WAR 2 VETERAN, A GUNNER IN THE COASTAL ARTILLERY, AND ALSO EDITOR OF THE BASE NEWSPAPER, THE GOLDEN GATE GUARDIAN, STATIONED AT FORT SCOTT, THE PRESIDIO IN SAN FRANCISCO DURING WORLD WAR II, IS THIS RARE ORIGINAL NEWSPAPER.JUNE, 1945 HE SHIPPED OUT TO MANILA, THE PHILIPPINES IN THE PACIFIC THEATER OF WAR. HE LATER WAS STATIONED AS PART OF THE OCCUPATION FORCES IN JAPAN.
HE RETURNED TO THE U.S. ON BOARD A U. S. NAVAL SHIP NOV 1945 AND EDITED THE SHIP'S NEWSPAPER-THE MASTHEAD
