Antique Persian Khatam Box - Large 18 inch by 12 Inch Custom Made

Description

This box was a custom commissioned piece in Isfahan, Iran in 1974; it has 4 distinctly different intricate patterns; and 4 different colored stripes; one which includes a diagonal stripe; it is 18" wide; approx 4.5" total hgt; approx 3.5" from bottom of box to first step up; and approx 2" deep; it is missing one small silver nail on hinge base, on the front of  the box; missing one nail on inside top side (that holds chain); missing several chain links on inside left of box; slight damage on left back corner outside box; brown leather bottom of box show minimal wear; there are no rips, tears to the velvet or silk inside box minimal fading, and minimal discoloration on silk between back hinges.
