    Description

    Offering for sale is a pre-owned Souvenir from New Orleans, It is a 6 1/4" x 8 1/4" print of Bourbon Street, New Orleans, particularly two buildings housing the businesses known as Old Absinthe House and DESIRE. This (C) print is by Archie Boyd. A diagonal white ribbon in upper left corner announces,
    Vieux Carre
    Roofing slate about 175 years old. Backside has a 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" paper glued to the slate the has written information regarding "...the Roofing Slates mined in Pennsylvania and transported down the Ohio and Mississippi to New Orleans..." Other information refers to the Rue Bourbon and calls attention to the famous street and in particular Jean Lafitte's "Old Absinthe House" begun two centuries ago. The info claims the slate was salvaged from an old house in the Vieux Carre area dating back to the 1700's and early 1800's.
