The defeat of Nazi Germany, V-E Day, was just three weeks away on May 8.
This original newspaper includes the entire first section, with several thousands of words on FDR’s death, along with war news, vintage advertisements and even a review of the new movie, “Black Beauty,” starring a young Elizabeth Taylor and Mickey Rooney.
