    FROM THE ESTATE OF A WORLD WAR 2 VETERAN, A GUNNER IN THE COASTAL ARTILLERY, AND ALSO EDITOR OF THE BASE NEWSPAPER, THE  GOLDEN GATE GUARDIAN,  STATIONED AT FORT SCOTT, THE PRESIDIO IN SAN FRANCISCO DURING WORLD WAR II, IS THIS RARE ORIGINAL FRONT PAGE (partial) OF THE CHICAGO SUN, DATED DEC 18, 1941 ELEVEN DAYS AFTER PEARL HARBOR.
    IT SHOWS THE U. S. S. ARIZONA STILL BURNING; A PICTURE AND BIO OF DISGRACED ADMIRAL KIMMEL WHO HAD BEEN IN COMMAND AT THE TIME OF THE JAPANESE SURPRISE ATTACK AND A DESCRIPTION OF NEW COMMANDING OFFICERS. ADMIRAL NIMITZ WAS NAMED HIS REPLACEMENT AND LT GEN EMMONS AS NEW HEAD OF THE AIR FORCE.
