Engraving Antique 1873 Catskills Sunrise South Mountain Appleton SV Hunt fr Fenn
This is an antique steel plate engraving that is titled, " The Catskills, Sunrise from South Mountain. The engraver is S.V Hunt. The artist the engraver worked from is Harry Fenn. The publisher is D. Appleton, New York. The print is marked by publisher, " Entered According to Act of Congress AD 1873 by D. Appleton & Co. in the Office of the Librarian of Congress, Washington". This engraving measures 12 1/2" x 9 1/2". The print has rich black tones and good detail. It feels like you are there on the cliff top with the two figures on the left watching the sunrise. This is an old item with age stains, yellowing on edges and some light soil as would be expected of an item from the 1800's.
