Sized 12 inches by 15 inches and 48 pages in length.  Chock full of interesting and thoughtful period news items, sports, entertainment, advertisements, classified ads, etc.
MOST noteworthy for the detailed coverage [front page and within the fold(s)] of the death of Ernie Pyle on the Island of Guam on April 18, 1945. Interestingly, it also contains both an editorial piece written by Ernie as well as an advertisement for one of Ernie's books.
Secondly:  A 77 year-old copy of the Washington D.C. "Evening Star" Overseas Edition for the date Wednesday, April 25, 1945.
Sized 11 inches by 13.5 inches and 8 pages in length.  Noted for it express purpose in sending our men and women in uniform "news from home" this edition is chock full of interesting and thoughtful period news items, comic strips, a crossword puzzle, and sports.
