There are four traditional centers of miniature lacquered box painting in Russia and the surrounding countries, which today have become the most famous. They are Fedoskino, Palekh, Mstera and Kholui. Mstera lacquerware typically depicts beautiful floral or elaborate fairytale-like fantasies based on folk, historical, or literary works. The wooden lacquer brooch pin is hand-painted and signed on brooch front by the artist. It features a prince reaching out to a beautiful bird. Dimensions: Oval shaped; L:2-1/2”; H:  1-1/8”.
