    Description

Rare Souvenir Vase East Lake Park Los Angeles Circa 1901 Wheelock For Maeder Priester Co
This is a small porcelain souvenir vase made by Wheelock in Germany for Los Angeles department store Maeder, Priester & Co. I had some trouble verifying that this store existed, so it may not have been in business very long or isn't well documented. I was able to find an ad in the 1905 Los Angeles Herald as shown and a postcard of East Lake Park which shows the same scene captured on the front.
I can date the piece to between 1901-1917 when the park changed names to become Lincoln Park, but it's most likely more to have been made in the earlier years. Because of these details this makes this a great bit of Los Angeles history and a beautiful item for your home or office. Measures 4 3/4 x 3 inches.
I ship within one business day and when possible on the same business day. Thanks for looking!
