    Description

    This lovely vintage handpainted brooch is known as Zhostovo painting or traditional Russian decorative work or tole painting. It is on lacquered wood with a dark black background.  The brooch measures 2 inches in diameter. There is an imbedded safety pin back with writing on the back of the brooch in Russian.
