VINTAGE MIDDLE EASTERN PARQUETRY WOOD & BONE BOX W/ A COMMEMORATIVE MEDALLION
A vintage Middle Eastern parquetry wood and bone box with a commemorative medallion. This was possibly used to commemorate the completion of a building. The box measures approximately 5 1/8" by 3 1/2" by 1 1/4". The medallion
measures approximately 2 3/8" in diameter. Overall condition is good. The medallion has an imperfection from the casting and has loss to the copper patina. The interior red velvet fabric is in very good condition. The box has a couple of small spots of parquetry loss. The hinges and closing mechanism are all in good working order. The medallion is dated 1971.
