Vintage Oil Lamp Shemen Ner Seljuk Seljuq

From my parents' travels of the 1970s-1980s is this oil lamp, without wick.  I believe it's made of copper, it's large at 7 3/8 inches tall by 7 1/4 inches wide, and it's base is about 3 7/8 inches in diameter.  I know little of it except it appears to be hand-hammered, has its lid for the oil well, and that it appears there may have been a dark oil or tar inside.  They were gifted by friends and governments on that trip; I have no idea how old it really is, but just the appearance is great for ornamentation, even if not used for its original purpose.
