Vintage Western Electric Telegraph Cut Out Dead Man Latching Relay - Very Nice Collectable.

One rare vintage and unique  Western Electric  telegraph cut out dead man relay.
When “set”, this interesting relay will open the circuit when it receives voltage.   As the coil pulls in, it releases the latched contact which springs up and opens the circuit. When used with a sounder, it opens the circuit when on operator is not present, so no messages are missed.
Has the
Western Electric label
on one end.
Base is black metal and wood. Coil resistance about 2 ohms. Size is about 2 3/4 x 6".
Very nicely restored condition.

private telegraph and railroad collection
from the 1950-60s.  Soon after that it was put into storage for decades.    My other
