W.U. Co (Western Union)
1B-400 ohms Morse code telegraph sounder.
J.H. Bunnell & Co.
Consists of a nice black wood base with brass and metal hardware.
Features
two coils (about 200 ohms ea), nameplate, terminal posts, and three adjustments for spring and gap settings.   Solid, well made and working.
Size
is about 5 ½ x 3 x 3 3/4 “ tall.
NOTE:
This vintage item is from a
private telegraph and railroad collection from the 1950-60s.
Soon after that it was put into storage for decades.   My other current high quality telegraph auction items are from the
same collection
.    Now available for you to own after 50+ years.
Condition is very good, actually used
.  There is minor wear due to age and use.
Item was
carefully professionally repaired / restored back in the 1950-60s close to its original look and functionality.
It is near “
Museum Quality
”.   That means that
some parts were replaced, refinished or repaired
to restore item.   Some minor changes in patina or finish may have occurred during storage. This item was carefully inspected prior to listing.   No damage , broken or missing parts that I know of.   See pictures!   Makes a very nice display piece to add to your collection.
