Description
Original letter and newspaper sent to Cincinnati Ohio by P.F.C Robert E. Cobbe during June 1944.The letter dated June 16, 1944 contains 3 pages and is in nice condition. It discusses happenings around the camp, a speech by General Terry Allen, uniforms, leaving Camp Carson to go to a point of embarkation, and the enclosed copy of The Timberwolf newspaper.
The newspaper dated June 15, 1944 has crease marks due to being envelope mailed home, however it is very clean and there is minimal damage at the folds and could be flattened.
Robert was a Cincinnati Ohio native who served in the U.S. Army with the 104th Timberwolf Infantry Division, Company B, 414th Infantry Regiment during WWII 1943-1945. He was deployed to Europe in the fall of 1944, traveling through France, Belgium, Holland to fight in Germany, and was a Bronze Star recipient.
