    Lot of 10 ''The Stars and Stripes'' newspapers from 1-24 August 1944, including copies of the condensed single sheet ''Continental Edition'' printed in France. The daily papers follow the Allied advance on Paris until the headline on 24 August proclaims the city's liberation. Other news include a possible polio vaccine. Sports news and columns by Ernie Pyle are regular features. Most 11.75'' x 16.75'' issues are 4 pages; a few include additional pages. Significant toning, foxing and chipping, else very good.
